Safety and Risk Management Considerations for Interscholastic Athletes
This workshop is designed to train athletic directors and coaches about safety and legal liability concerns related to supervising and conducting a sports program. Topics that will be addressed include discussion of tort law and negligence as well the athletic administrators/coaches duties related to proper supervision, proper instruction, proper medical/emergency care, proper travel, and transportation. Other topics include constitutional rights of participants and coaches. The speakers would be highly qualified experts from the sponsoring councils.
