Coaching Competitive Ethics: Practical Applications for Teaching Character through Sport |
Building a successful coaching legacy is conditional on recognizing “teachable moments” where character development can occur. This hands-on, interactive session will identify universal ethical values and link them to sport specific examples. In addition, this session will demonstrate specific interactions between coaches and players providing coaching tactics that will build individual athlete and team character. The outcomes for the session are tools, materials, and real world practical skills that participants may take back to their teams. Participants should then be able to teach ethical reasoning skills to their student-athletes that should produce positive behavior outcome. |
Speakers: Pete Van Mullem, Dave Brunner and Sharon Kay Stoll, University of Idaho, Moscow, ID |
