FINDING YOUR WAY: Maps, Compasses, GPS
This session will focus on the use of maps, compasses, and GPS in finding your way in the outdoors. Specifically, the participant will learn how to use the orienteering equipment in activities appropriate for school and recreational programs. After the ‘teaching segment' of the program, an orienteering course will take you on a trek around town using the newly learned skills to navigate the streets and open spaces. A sequence of orienteering teaching activities will also be shared with the participants that can be used immediately in each specific teaching situation. Meet at Information Booth in the registration area.
