Gopher Commercial Presentation: Active and Healthy Behaviors: The Road to Accountability |
For over 50 years, physical educators have chased elusive outcomes, primarily physical fitness and skill development. These goals have become less valued as physical education outcomes because the needs of society have changed. As overweight issues and high rates of obesity continue to escalate, a new focus for physical education accountability is a requisite. The Gopher Active and Healthy Program is designed to focus on authentic outcomes for good health, specifically increased physical activity and healthy eating habits. Evidence will be offered to support this rationale for a new approach to physical education. |
