| Gopher Commercial Presentation: A New Direction: Active and Healthy School Outcomes |
| Gopher has designed an Active and Healthy School program that offers a step by step implementation plan. All materials for the program focus on changing the environment of the school to increase physical activity and healthy eating habits. The program is a three-pronged approach designed to teach active behaviors, healthy eating habits, and sun safety. Also, a restructuring of the playground environment is critical to increasing the activity level of youth and this will be discussed in detail as well. The presentation will focus on understanding the rationale for the program, research data supporting the program, and actual implementation activities. |
