Waterproof Kids (WPK) Water Safety - Patent for Success in Education
Based on national drowning statistics for children ages 1-14, drowning is the second leading cause of accidental death. How can this trend be reversed? The Keller Independent School District Natatorium in Keller, Texas began a WATER SAFETY EDUCATION program for elementary and intermediate school children in August 2003. With endorsement by the Board of Trustees, the Superintendent of Schools and Administration, in 2003-04, 1,995 3rd grade children participated from 12 area campuses. Since that time the program has grown to include over 7,000 school children and 121 special needs students from over 20 campuses.
