Implementing New Physical Education Curricula with the Application of PECAT
Physical education curriculum shapes physical education in schools and serves as the cornerstone for building a quality program. The CDC’s Physical Education Curriculum Analysis Tool (PECAT) provides guidance on analyzing curriculum for improvement purposes. This session will describe the process by which two school districts are using the PECAT to assess how well their curricula and instructional practices meet national standards, guidelines, and best practices for teaching physical education and to make revisions to their curricula based on the assessment.
