Special Movement: Teaching Adapted Movement for All Ages & Abilities
Focus: This intensive, full-day workshop is designed for the dance and physical educator and health specialist to learn best practices for teaching movement for people with special needs. There will be discussion of teaching in recreational, institutional and studio settings. This session aligns with the AAHPERD mission to advocate for physical activity for all ages and abilities for creative, healthy lifestyles. The National Dance Standards will be utilized. A special presentation focuses on the needs of the caregiver.
