Fitness Standards for the Senior, Active Population
THE GOLDEN RULE Standards for measuring physical excellence are abundant and well-known for age cohort groups from primary level children, through adolescence, and into the adult years. However, when it comes to our seasoned adults, especially those who have minimal multi-factorial limitations, comparative standards are lacking or non-existent. This seminar will present the culmination of a ten year study to develop initial standards of physical fitness excellence for the 65+ age group for both genders. A historical review of senior programs in the U.S. will preclude the presentation of four standards of comparison for the active senior participant.
