Considerations for Navigating Tenure and Promotion Requirements in Higher Education |
For many junior faculty members in higher education the reappointment, tenure, and promotion (RTP) process often proves to be very stressful. Developing a strategy that includes a comprehensive understanding of department, college, and university expectations will assist junior faculty during the process. The purpose of this session is to provide practical ideas for achieving tenure while staying true to personal convictions and without compromising the integrity and expectations of the university. Several considerations will be outlined to serve as a practical guide for faculty as they embark on a career in higher education on the road toward tenure and beyond. |
