Expectations of Faculty in the HPER Disciplines
Doctoral students very often are anxious about finding placement at a university upon graduation. However, few understand the recruiting process and after entering the university system many do not know fully what is expected of them. Faculty members are expected to comply with the university’s tripartite, which includes: teaching, research and service. Balancing the three maybe cumbersome, however, faculty productivity has become an important criterion for academic personnel decisions in numerous universities. This panel of department heads will discuss recruitment/selection of employment, performance expectations of faculty members, value of merit pay and faculty evaluation
