No Child Left Behind On Pool Bottom: K-12 Aquatic In-service |
This aquatic in-service training workshop preview will motivate K-12 swimming teachers to review their risk management procedures and give practical strategies to implement with staff and students to create a safe environment. Swimming is mandated in the curriculum for some states and is being taught by individuals who may not be familiar with the risk management issues or aquatic pedagogy. Although learning to swim may save a child’s life, the process should not endanger it. Preparing K-12 teachers with the Aquatic In-service Training Workshop will increase safety awareness for participants and instructors and reduce the number of accidents and fatalities. |
