Campus Partnerships: Combining Peer Health Education Curriculum with Residence Life |
Peer Health Educators have the potential to positively influence the campus environment, but only if we incorporate meaningful, intentional training methods and create campus partnerships to facilitate peer-to-peer interaction. Thanks to a partnership with Residence Life, a Peer Health Education course offered at the University of Kansas allows students to assess, plan and implement health programming efforts on campus. This session will describe the class offered including training techniques, classroom assessment and strategies for building partnerships on campus. Although this program took place specifically on a college campus, ideas shared can be implemented in the K-12 setting. |
