Moving Together: Promoting Affective Development in Children through Cooperative Games |
This program will focus on introducing young children (aged 4-6) to early socialization through physical movement and is intended for elementary physical educators who are looking for innovative ways to get their students playing together. The program will describe a 16-lesson unit of activities that will allow children to experience the benefits of being physically active through games that stress cooperation rather than competition. Attendees will be encouraged to participate in an interactive session that comes complete with assessment techniques that can be used to assess the degree affective and psychomotor growth as a result of the program. |
