University Prevention Coalition Building: Lessons Learned |
The development and evolution of a campus prevention coalition and its efforts to reduce students’ high-risk drinking will be shared. The coalition’s planning, implementation and evaluation have focused on the following six areas: 1) CHEERS (a designated driver program); 2) Social Norms; 3) Assessment; 4) Education; 5) Late Night Programming and 6) Environmental Change. The importance of changes in coalition membership and adopting a broader definition of “prevention” activities will be highlighted. Ongoing challenges that will be described include coordination between student affairs and faculty members and student coalition membership. |
