Networking is one of the most important skills for any professional but many don’t see results from their efforts. With more pressure on academics to produce not only quality research but also to ‘create money’, the importance to make the right connections and develop those prosperous relationships increases. Traditionally, researchers networked with other researchers, students wooed prospective employers – many kept in their ‘box’. Today, everyone needs to understand the business of networking to increase funding efforts towards commercializing research, developing joint research efforts, sponsoring a program, etc. Come to this little talk, all ACTION speed networking session! |
