Social Dance Unit for Elementary Schools - No Experience Required!
Demonstrates how to teach MAHPERD's exciting new Elementary dance-unit syllabus, which is capable of being taught by PE teachers without a dance background. We’ve chosen rhythms and dance styles to appeal to today’s youth – from Rock ‘n’ Roll to Disco to Hip Hop – to create a complete unit which both boys and girls will enjoy. Each lesson uses a single rhythm, and all five lessons comprise of warm up exercises, an easy dance routine, activities, extensions and teaching notes. The syllabus includes clearly defined objectives, assessments and rubrics compliant with National Frameworks. Developed in Massachusetts under MAHPERD since 2004.
