| Description | The widely reported obesity epidemic has drawn considerable attention from a multitude of sources including the CDC, WHO, and the mass media because of its relationship with poor health. Recently, however, consumers have been receiving mixed-messages regarding the actual health effects of being obese. Specifically, conflicting reports on the morbidity rate associated with being obese, the definition of obesity, and the reality of living a healthy life while being obese. This disillusionment has led to a considerable public backlash and prompted this report to provide consumers and educators with the facts relating to obesity and health. | |
