Transdanubian Folk Dance: A Returning Dance Form

While on a faculty development program to Hungary, the presenter had the opportunity to visit and dance with a group engaged in reconstructing and preserving Transdanubian folk dance. This session will present the economic, logistical, and historical issues facing this group of children and adults, as well as teaching some of the basic Hungarian folk dance motifs and how they are used in folk dance in South Central Hungary. The session is appropriate for educators of all disciplines as well as students.
