Helpful Tips for Writing for Publication |
This session is designed for graduate students and junior faculty members interested in writing publishable research reports. Experienced researchers will provide tips on each step of the submission and review process including (a) choosing an appropriate journal; (b)conceptualizing ideas, determining the manuscript's scope, preparing necessary materials, mapping sections of the manuscript, and the role of the research log/journal; (c) advanced writing techniques to present concise and accurate information; (d) preparing the manuscript for submission, including cover letter writing and correspondence with the editor, interpreting reviewer comments, and handling page proofs; and (e) ethical considerations. Examples from qualitative and quantitative research will be provided. |
