Student Majors’ Clubs Successfully Implement ESPN’s Play Your Way Program into Their University Communities |
NASPE and ESPN teamed up in fall 2005 to introduce the ESPN “Play Your Way (PYW)” program to student majors clubs across the country. PYW is a youth fitness initiative that empowers children ages 7-12 to get active by creating physically active games as a part of community PYW clubs. The role of student majors clubs is to implement PYW in their university communities by facilitating a PYW club(s). Come hear about the program from several student majors clubs that implemented the program. Discussion items include using the activity as a community-service project, how kids/parents reacted to the program, lessons learned, and how it helped student majors and enhanced the activities of the majors’ clubs. |
