Connecting Preparation and Practice: A Primer for Health Education Teacher Candidates |
Teaching opportunities in the field are critical for the quality preparation of health education teacher candidates. These experiences provide an opportunity for the health education candidate to apply pedagogical and content knowledge and skills to the practical learning environment of the classroom. While many endorse the use of in-field teaching experiences in health education courses, it is often a daunting task for the university professor to research, secure, and oversee appropriate and suitable teaching opportunities in the public schools. This session will assist those contemplating inclusion of in-field experience in their health education classes. |
