Targeting Obesity: Strategies for Schools that Promote Nutrition and Physical Activity: 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, MyPyramid Food Guide System and School Health Index
This session targets our nation's exploding child and adolescent obesity crisis. Participants will understand cutting-edge nutrition and physical activity guidelines that are targeted toward addressing these issues in their school. This workshop targets obesity with the following tools: (1) the 2005 Dietary Guidelines for Americans, (2) the Mypyramid Food Guidance System, and (3) the School Health Index. The workshop is targeted for health educators, physical educators, nurses, coaches, athletic trainers and exercise enthusiasts looking to expand their skills in exercise and nutrition.
