Youth Strength Training: Concepts, Guidelines, and Recommendations for Children and Adolescents
This workshop will discuss the appropriateness of strength training for children and adolescents among community, sports, and physical education programs. Topics include the risks and benefits of strength training, dealing with controversial issues, the influence of growth and maturation, determining readiness, selection of developmentally appropriate exercises, preparing effective physical education strength training units, and strength training recommendations and guidelines for children and adolescents.
