Women and Violence
Research shows that one in five high school students will be involved in an abusive relationship by the time they graduate and that these traumatic events are often found at the root of problems that include poor school performance, eating disorders, depression, self-mutilation, drug use, alcoholism and suicide. This interactive session will focus on experiential teaching methods to use in classrooms specific to violence. Varied activities will be introduced to address young students up to college age. Two new videos and an interactive curriculum about date rape designed for high school health classes will also be previewed.
