Modeling the Experts: Developing Teaching Progressions Based on Expertise |
This active workshop aims to present a thought-provoking set of ideas on how to teach striking, kicking, and dancing skills using methods typically employed by experts, applied to the K-12 school setting. The purpose is to share strategies of teaching and learning utilized by expert coaches and athletes in the acquisition of complex skills in soccer and volleyball (Rabelo, 2001; Da Matta, 2004), and to apply those strategies to daily K-12 teaching of the basic elements of salsa dancing. |
