PETE Issues and Ideas: Building a Highly Qualified Future
This session intends to continue an important, running dialog among physical education teacher educators concerning curricular issues impacting the preparation of physical educators, such as effective use of foundational coursework, curricular stranding, development of PCK, and increasing the meaningfulness of student teaching. An example of a model PETE program will then be presented by the University of Wyoming’s PETE faculty that has led to maximum participation by children in physical education taught by highly qualified teachers.
