Caring About Physical Activity: Why Caring Matters and How to Integrate Caring into Physical Activity and Physical Education Settings |
This interactive session will examine how integrating caring into physical activity (PA) and physical education (PE) settings might assist in fostering the holistic social emotional development of youth. The session objectives include the following: (1)discuss the characteristics of caring; (2) place caring within personal teaching/coaching philosophy and value system; (3) discuss the impact of caring; (4) discuss elements of a caring PA or PE curriculum; and (5) integrate caring into personal PA and PE lesson plans. This session applies to individuals who teach or coach youth K-12. |
