The Myths and Realities of Therapeutic Heat and Cold |
The application of heat/cold in the treatment of sport-related injuries is common. Questions often asked by athletic trainers, coaches, and physical educators are (1) When is it appropriate to apply ice or heat? (2) Which is better ice vs. heat? (3) How long should ice and heat be applied? Answers to these questions as well as getting a better understanding of the physiological responses to heat and cold, practical application tips, and how heat and cold can be utilized by practitioners across many disciplines will be presented. This workshop will be led by the world's foremost experts on the topic. |
