Adapted Aquatics Instructor Credential - Day 3 |
This 22-hour course is for currently certified Red Cross water safety and/or YMCA swimming instructors on how to conduct adapted aquatics program for people with disabilities. Prerequisites include: (1) Current Red Cross or YMCA swimming instructor certification; (2) current first aid and CPR (Infant/child, adult, AED). Candidates must bring swimsuit, towel, textbook “Adapted Aquatics Programming” by Lepore, Gayle, and Stevens (1998) Human Kinetics Publisher and completed study guide, plus a videotape/DVD of themselves teaching swimming skills to a small group of people with disabilities(2-5)in the aquatic setting. Pre-registration required. |
