COPEC Day: Off the Wall—Activities That Support Traverse Wall Climbing |
Traverse wall climbing is an emerging activity that provides exciting adventure opportunities for students of all ages. This session will introduce participants to activities that engage students while rotated “off the wall” during a climbing unit. Activities will be appropriate for all ages and grade levels, and are designed to address muscular strength and endurance in the upper and lower body, static and dynamic balance, core strength, decision-making skills, and motor planning. Participants will be challenged to improve lateral movement and will use a variety of easily obtained equipment to participate in these challenges. |
