Integrating Outdoor Service Learning Projects within the K-12 Setting |
This session is designed to shed light on the benefits of integrating a service-learning component into a health and physical education program. With the increasing popularity of outdoor activities in the PE curriculum, teachers, students, and the community can benefit from a well-designed service-learning project. Participants will be exposed to the potential for involving students across grades and across academic disciplines.
In addition, the presenters will demonstrate how a project of this nature can assist students in fulfilling state graduation requirements. This session will conclude with methods and strategies for the successful implementation of service learning in the PE curriculum. |
