Sports Participation, Risk Taking, and Health Risk Behaviors during Adolescence
An overview of the relationship of sports participation, risk-taking, and health risk behaviors during adolescence. The putative mechanisms by which sports participation is protective as well as encouraging risk behavior will be elucidated. Recommendations regarding the role of sport, health education, and physical education for intervention and policy will be outlined.
