The Scholarship of Grantseeking: Assigning Faculty Rewards and Enhancing Professional Development |
The expectation for higher education faculty and staff to procure grants is universal regardless of institution type, position, and discipline. From vacancy notices stating grantseeking among job roles and responsibilities, to tenure and promotion policies, this expectation is firmly established. While the expectation is widespread, faculty rewards, recognition, and professional development for grantseeking varies greatly. This session presents information to assist supervisors and performance evaluation committees with the development of guidelines to recognize and reward successful grantseeking and to assist with the professional development for those interested in enhancing their grantseeking efforts and abilities. |
