NIDA Goes Back to School, Science-Based Drug Abuse Education |
The NIDA Goes Back to School (NGBTS) campaign, created by the National Institute on Drug Abuse, is aimed at children, teens, and the adults who influence them, including science/health teachers, curriculum developers, science chairpersons, school nurses/counselors, and youth-health advocates. The campaign emphasizes the consequences of drug abuse, increases scientific literacy, and stimulates interest in scientific careers. Session attendees will learn about the campaign and its variety of educational materials—all based on scientific research and available free-of-charge. These materials address professionals’ needs for resources that allow them to stay current in changing fields and curricula and how to involve students. |
