Developing and Implementing College Degree Programs for Personal Fitness Trainers
This session provides a review/analysis of the state of the fitness/personal training industry and college/university exercise science programs that currently prepare students toward careers as fitness professionals. Faculty members and academic administrators will learn how to structure academic templates or models including college certificates, associate, undergraduate, and graduate degree programs focusing on preparing students for careers as personal trainers. Particular emphasis is on preparing curriculum guidelines, establishing clinical courses, and developing unique practical features within academic programs to prepare students to safely work with all age groups and to meet the demands required of the fitness and allied health/medical industry.
