The Impact of the HIPAA Privacy Rule on Sport Professionals
Intended for an audience of physical educators and those engaged in sport at all levels. The HIPAA (Health Insurance and Portability and Accountability Act) was amended by a Privacy Rule that was designed with good intentions, but has created a minefield for sport practitioners at all levels. This presentation will elaborate on HIPAA privacy problems and recommended solutions. The benefit to the attendee will be a better working understanding of this complicated area that affects everyone involved in sport or sport education at all levels.
