Mentoring Female Sport Management Graduate Students
Mentoring is described as one of the most crucial elements in the success of a female student in academia. Women tend to seek female mentors who are personal and professional role models, as opposed to men who prefer mentors who have obtained a high rank and overall academic success. Due to the few numbers of women faculty in sport management, finding a female mentor becomes arduous (Hall, 2003). This panel will evince factors that contribute to a successful mentor relationship between sport management graduate female students and female faculty.
