Youth Strength Training: Facts, Fallacies, and Program Design Considerations |
At what age can children start to lift weights? Is strength training safe for boys and girls? Can strength training enhance athletic performance and reduce the likelihood of sports-related injuries? In this seminar, the latest research on youth strength training will be reviewed and the potential benefits and concerns associated with this type of exercise will be discussed. Attendees will learn how to develop safe, effective, and creative youth strength training programs for their physical education classes and after-school programs. |
