The Oregon Asthma Friendly Schools Project is a five-year Centers of Disease Control cooperative agreement with the Oregon Department of Education and the Oregon Asthma Program, Department of Human Services. Five schools per year are selected to participate in a coordinated school health process and seven to eight days of training, planning, and action plan implementation. Sites consider asthma management in health education, physical education, health services, staff development, and more. This session will describe some of the stories and lessons learned by fifteen schools involved in the Project since the fall of 2003.
