This session compares the movement towards national and state standards in the US to national standards and national curricula in other countries. The nature of national curriculum vs. national standards will be examined from a cultural perspective. Audience members will be invited to "reflect on our past" and see how that has provided "visions for our future" and to compare this with the past, present, and future of national trends in physical education in other countries and cultures. |
Keyword(s): multiculturalism/cultural diversity, national issues
