Jazz Dance: Creating Combinations for the Brain and Spirit |
This participatory workshop provides guidelines on how to choreograph Jazz dance combinations using a developmental movement approach, including: (1) core to distal movements, (2) spinal movements, (3) upper/lower movements, (4) body half movements, and (5) cross lateral movements discussion on how these movements integrate the body and the brain. Discussions on how these movements integrate the body and the brain; participants will create 2-3 jazz combinations that are age and skill appropriate for K-12 classes. The presenter has danced and/or choreographed professionally for the Semperoper Ballett, Bill Evans Dance Company, Nora Daniel Dancers, Danzantes Dance Company, and the Windfall Dancers. |
