Hip Hop Clog for Health
As dance and physical educators address the growing problem of inactive and overweight children, we must look for ways to stimulate their creative and cognitive abilities, as well as their fitness levels. This session integrates hip hop jazz and basic clogging movements in three combinations as applied to ability. Emphasis is placed on age appropriate and high energy teaching. An introduction explores the history of clogging and its present popularity, including how clogging blends with hip hop and tap into this contemporary style. Accomplishment and enjoyment keep students participating far beyond the classroom. Dance impacts the physical fitness components. When executed to the appropriate intensity level, cardio-respiratory endurance, muscular strength, flexibility, and body composition are positively affected. Learn how to motivate your students to move while applying these fitness components, with "Hip Hop Clog" - the fun, energetic exercise.
