Stretching a Myth and Truth, a Biomechanical Perspective |
This lecture will challenge traditional theories and methodologies associated with stretching. We challenge the most common theories and perspectives related to stretching. Structural integrity and performance enhancement related theories (injury prevention, increased neuromuscular facilitation, reduction in delayed onset of muscular soreness, increased joint range of motion) will be challenged based on the literature and an analysis of the common theories in relation to the musculoskeletal system. |
Keyword(s): coaching, exercise/fitness, performance
