The Kinesthetic Physics of Fly Casting |
This exciting hands-on session introduces outdoor and physical education professionals to the science behind the art of fly casting. From the information and skills learned during this session, participants will be able to integrate science and mathematic concepts into their respective curricula. One purpose of this program is to demonstrate a method by which state-mandated standards can be met by using a physical education activity as the learning vehicle. Fly casting is a topic that encompasses several key mathematical and physical laws to the extent that the topic has been the focus of several peer-reviewed science and engineering journal articles. |
