Planning and Teaching Map and Compass Skills using Multiple Intelligence Theory |
One measure of an effective teacher is the ability to impact the learning of as many students as possible. Influenced by the work of Harold Gardner, this presentation will focus on the instruction of map and compass skills in ways that both accommodate and challenge the diverse needs of middle and high school-aged students. Content development within and across lessons will be addressed with emphasis placed on the creation of a teacher-friendly unit with subsequent lesson plans that address each of Gardner’s eight intelligences through map and compass instruction. |
