Using Developmental Trends to Create New Developmental Sequences |
Component developmental sequences can serve as valid, reliable assessment instruments that also provide diagnostic information for teaching of motor skills. A common complaint is that too few validated developmental sequences exist for teachers and coaches to use. Help is available. Developmental trends for locomotor, projection (ballistic), and reception skills are proposed to help teachers get started identifying useful developmental sequences. Examples of the trends as well as several exemplar sequences created using the trends and tips for using the trends will be shared with participants. |
