Collaboration with Class
Participants are encouraged to stretch the boundaries of their classroom assignments. Teachers, students, and employees discuss ideas that initiate learning in “real life” environments. Active learning environments have the comfort of boundaries and supervision, but freedom from lectures, textbooks, and notes. The need for active learning and the challenge in design and assessment are topics discussed in this session. This presentation includes examples of class assignments that encourage collaborative efforts with the community. Small group discussions are designed to identify additional ideas for attendees to take home and apply.
