A Healthier You – Legacy of 2002 Olympic Winter Games
“A Healthier You 2002™” was able to achieve success through the partnership it had with the 2002 Olympic Winter Games and the many partner organizations that participated. It has now developed into a legacy awards program that recognizes the efforts of schools, worksites, communities, and college campuses to increase the participation of their constituents in five health-enhancing areas: physical activity, nutrition, safety, healthy behaviors, and prevention screenings. This is done through a Gold Medal award program with specific criteria for each setting. The presentation will focus on the awards program and criteria to include successes and challenges.
