Convincing Your Participants They Can Be Physically Active
This program is intended for the exercise instructor or teacher, and provides information on behavioral skills designed to promote physical activity and enhance adherence among new exercise program enrollees. It was developed to attract individuals with a history of dropping out of exercise due to low motivation and “lack of time.” The session is interactive and stage based, and focuses on behavioral intentions, commitment, perceived barriers, goals and objectives, and relapse prevention strategies. The result is an individually tailored lifestyle activity model program for the “reluctant” exerciser.
